Tech-support

A pop-up or call says your computer is infected and you must allow remote access or pay.

✓ Safe move: Never give remote access. Close it, restart, and call a trusted technician.

A text about a stuck delivery or unpaid toll with a link to 'verify' payment details.

✓ Safe move: Don't tap the link. Check the carrier or toll site directly.
Check overpayment

A buyer/employer sends a check for too much and asks you to refund the difference.

✓ Safe move: The check will bounce. Never refund money from a check that hasn't truly cleared.
Quantum / crypto 'upgrade'

✓ Safe move: No legitimate institution asks you to move money to a new wallet by message.
